WRITERS/BANDS/ENTERTAINERS/ETC.
If you are an artist, band or some type of entertainer please feel free to fill out our questions and send them to chuck@kickacts.com or submit@kickacts.com .
It may take a few weeks to get back with you because most times I have several in front of you. But I will get to you. I don’t care how big or small you are. We all are networking and will definitely try to help you and you help promote www.kickacts.com at the same time. You can place my logo on your website linking back to www.kickacts.com. You can tell your friends about us too. We will do the same. If you are putting sponsors on your t-shirts or flyers, I am interested in that too…Contact me, maybe we can come up with something.
WRITERS/VIDEO/POD CAST SUBMISSIONS read
If you are a writer, or a wannabe writer or podcaster or someone that tells jokes, stories, rants, recipes or anything…We can use you. www.kickacts.com is self funded so at this time I can’t pay for your material but you get the benefits of having it published online for free. If you like you can embed ads in your submissions to generate funds for you. If you submit stuff on a regular basis (such as on a weekly basis) I can sometimes set you up with interviews and passes at events. In the past we have been able to get passes for major rock events throughout the United States but once again, please don’t send me one submission a year and start asking about passes. It won’t happen.
EVERYONE read
www.kickacts.com on the average almost every month gets over 100,000 page hits and has consistently for the past five + years and we have the stats to prove that if requested. We are however, independent and always in search of advertisers and sponsors. We also would like to have contests from time to time, so if you have a cd or something to give away we can use that too. Submit@kickacts.com or chuck@kickacts.com for more info or our mailing address.
BANDS/ENTERTAINERS read
If you are submitting the answers for the questions, keep this in mind. A one sentence reply sucks and is not appealing to anyone. It shows that either you don’t give a damn about the interview and your head is up your ass and you think you are “too big” to be bothered by answering the questions or you don’t know what the hell you are doing… All of those things look bad on YOU and stick out like a sore thumb….Look; the interview is “FREE” publicity for “YOU”… Say that again OUTLOUD…“FREE” publicity for “YOU”…It is YOUR CHANCE to shine, to impress, to make a new fan or turn someone completely off.
You have no idea how many bands send me one sentence answers…
Here are two examples from 2 different artists.
Do you have a greatest gig story you’d like to share?
the fist time i got on stage i knew this music is for me im nice
Next example
Do you have a greatest gig story you’d like to share?
I had the opportunity to perform for the GATE convention this past February and it was an amazing experience. The Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment (GATE) is an organization that brings together musicians, artists, writers, etc. who are all seeking to make the world better through their art. Jim Carrey and Eckhart Tolle are two of the organization’s founders. It was such an honor to be able to share the stage with so many amazing artists.
So which one was more interesting? The first one were the artist didn’t even take time to correct his grammar or punctuation or the other one? One didn’t give a damn, he wanted to look “fly” in “print” and that’s hard to do…The other one took the opportunity and answered it … Also there is an overkill of writing a book for one answer so… I know, I know…you gotta find a happy medium…
Also, if you take time to answer the questions correctly I will take time to hunt up broken links and YouTube videos of you if you don’t include them. I basically give back what is given to me…If you blow off the interview that you decided to fill out, I will mostly likely blow off fixing your interview and publish it verbatim …warts and all. I need traffic even if your stuff is epically “Crappic”.
And about links…Please make sure they aren’t broken…Yes I can hunt them down most times and fix them but it’s so much better if you have it together…Be a little professional…
And about the interview. Here are some pointers.
Be long winded…Be funny. Be serious. But be something, interesting…
Some of the questions I have are “sarcastic”. So play along. If they offend you or don’t fit you, please feel free to change them to suit your taste……Be creative… hell, I might keep your question and replace the one I sent you for further interviews…Some of them reference boobs. If you are not into boobs or you are a chick not into boobs (unbelievable?), the questions are generalized so change them… we are cool with that…
When I started this, I interviewed bands in my age group..30 and up…Way up… But some of you now submitting are the younger generation so You don’t remember Gilligan’s island unless you have seen it on TV land or Boomerang!…So change it to something from your era..It’s pretty simple…Really it is…
Next thing…I am not offended or shocked…So say what you want…I don’t censor…
If you have stuff at reverbnation/cd baby/Itunes or…send me the embed code for the player…I will put that with your interview… same with Youtube. Include photographs and anything interesting, etc…
If you are represented by an agency…Give them a shout out…They are working on your behalf.
If you have any major updates after the interview…Send them. We put up “What’s New with” from time to time… It will keep your fan base up to date on what’s happening to you.
I have Google ads on the site…It helps pay for hosting so, feel free to punch those ads and our supporters once in awhile…Every little bit helps..Contact our sponsors; tell them you saw them on KickActs…Let them know their ads were seen. If you don’t, who does?
Like us on facebook…Share it with your friends. The more people we have the more people see your interview… https://www.facebook.com/kickacts
Copy and paste these in a word document and send to. Submit@kickacts.com or chuck@kickacts.com
