YOUNG LYE PHOTO SHOOT BY RONNIE WRIGHT 187Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and were you can be found online.
My name is Jimmell Clarke i am a Hip-Hop artist and i go by the artist
name Young Lye  i am 18 years old, i was born and raised in the South Bronx
New York City right where rap / Hip-Hop started from. I started rapping
when i was 3 years old, i been in the business of music for 13 years now.
You can fine me online at www.young-lye.com, twitter.com/@younglye,
Facebook.com/younglye, Facebook.com/younglyemusic, and
youtube.com/lillion1111.
Who are your musical heroes and influences? Why?
My musical influences are Biggie Smalls, 2Pac, Jay z, P Diddy because
they have such an impact on the Hip Hop industry.
Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in the music business?
My advice is always follow your dreams, its not an easy road to travel,
but if you work very hard at your craft you will make it in this business
of music.
What piece of advice did you ignore that you wish you hadn’t?
My bro and r&b hit singer Pleasure P once told me I should always get my music mixed and mastered before I let any one listen to it. I would have
saved a lot of time and money if I had made 1 great song got it mixed well
and mastered, than to make 10 songs and none is radio playable.
Do you have a greatest gig story or worst gig horror story you would like to
share?
The first time I performed a the Famous Apollo Theater in Harlem N.Y.C.
when I was 9 years old, as I was entering the stage the host told me to rub
my hands on the log on the stage before i performed, as I touched the log a
strange good feelings over whelmed my whole body and from that day, I just
love being on stage performing.
Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music? Collect stamps?
Collect hats from off the side of the road? Draw pictures of peckers or
boobs?  Make sock puppets? Sit in the dark and eat Cheetos?
I like playing football, basketball, and video games a lot.

What do you think about the current music scene or lack of? Care to address
that?
I really thinks music forever lives, and it changes with time like every
thing else you just have to adjust to it.

Do you think reality shows like American Idol, X factor and The Voice have
helped or hurt the music industry as a whole?
I think those reality shows helps a lot of great artist to get
recognition that other wise wouldn’t get what they deserved.

What is your opinion of unauthorized music downloads?
It as its good and it as its bad, its good for new up-coming artist that
don’t have a strong fan base as yet, because it makes their music gets
heard that other wise wouldn’t get heard. But its bad for established
artist that already have a strong fan base, because these artists lose
money when people download their tracks for free.

Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect
to hear.
Well when I was 4 months in my mom belly, my dad got rod and shot and
now he as to be living with the help of a wheel chair, and from I was small
I love to push him around and he would let me ride on it in his lap it was
fun.

Hypothetical situation. You’re on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up
with only one of the survivors’ Which one and why?
11)I would like to hook up with ginger she was always the sexy looking one.

Do you know what a vinyl album is and have your ever purchased one? If so,
what was it?
Yes i do know them, I went with my mom to buy a vinyl album before it
was a Thriller album by Michael Jackson.

You’re marooned on an island with Justin Bieber. Do you choke him out the
first night in his sleep or what?
I would work with him to try to survive.

What is your opinion of Miley Cyrus?
She’s very cool, I like her image.

Which would you rather hear in concert?  Lip synching or real vocals?_ YOUNG LYE PHOTO SHOOT BY RONNIE WRIGHT 108
I would rather hear real vocal, Slick Rick once told my dad that on Soul
Train they use to lip-synching, i bet y’all reader didn’t know that.

Who, or what, is the next big thing?
I know I am the next big thing in the entertainment business, humbly
speaking.

One artist you can’t get enough of and can’t live without is?
Rihanna and Beyonce’.

Confession time. Share a secret about yourself.
I smoke loud at times.

Favorite movie of all time and why.
Its got to be ”Set It Off” for me.

Our last question is called “Shout It Out Loud”. Its were you get to talk
about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and “SHOUT IT OUT LOUD”!
I think music is the healing of the nations, and i want to thank God for
giving me some of His Great talent.

ps. Thanks very much for having me.

Motley Crue’s new music video has age requirements? WTH?

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

1901340_738818752837099_5951866392306427259_n

Well, for shitties and kitties let’s pretend you are 16 years old and you just got paid from your first job as the fry guy at the local hamburger restaurant…The new Motley Crue album just dropped on Tuesday and you got to have it. “JUST GOT TO HAVE IT!” You are spending your hard earned bucks on something,so it might as well be that Motley album. You cash your check and take your fry guy grease pimpled face down to the local record store and pick up it. Your hooked! You become a Motley Crue fan for life. You buy every album/cassette or disk that comes out. You attend concerts. You buy swag. You stick up for them even when the album you just  bought might not have been their best work. Still you “Crue” on. Right? RIGHT. When you’re out with a hot date you throw in “Home Sweet Home” on the car stereo to get her legs to uncross…you grow up with the Crue. They grow old with you. You and the Crue experience life together. It’s a deal right? A brotherhood. Live fast die young? Well, not really…

It seems country music star Justin Moore is redoing Motley Crue’s “Home Sweet Home ” song and will have Motley Crue in the video. However, if you were around 16 at the time and  purchased any of the following Motley Crue’s Albums when they were released with your own hard earned work money  you are not welcome to the video shoot in Nashville. The video shoot has an age limit of 21 to 35…

1981’s “Too Fast For Love”

1983’s Shout at the Devil”

1985’s “Theater of Pain”

1987’s “Girls Girls Girls”

1989’s “Dr. Feelgood”

1994’s “Motley Crue”

Now how freaking wrong is that? I get it that they want some young hip people in the video. But I would almost dare say that most 20 to 30 something year old people have neither (A)  purchased a Motley Crue album” (B) couldn’t name no more than 2 Motley Crue songs without having to pause and think about it” (C)  attended or will attend a Motley Crue concert or name anyone in the band…or (D) know that everyone in the band is in their 50’s and 60’s…

Doesn’t Nashville realize that with those age limits the Band Motley Crue couldn’t be in their own video if held to those standards?

I am not disappointed but Nashville and Hollywood are going to have to break down the age barrier and let people be people…All ages. Not just the glamorous clueless youth. Maybe everyone that is a Crue fan over 35 should storm the video shoot???

KickActs interviews Aaron Morales of “Pistolas D’ Pasión”

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and were you can be found online.

408714_196841987132783_1087807763_nI’m Aaron Morales, singer and guitarist for Pistolas D’ Pasión, we’re a bilingual (English/Spanish) rock band from Chicago, Illinois and we can be found on Facebook at facebook.com/pistolasdpasion, Twitter at twitter.com/pistolasdpasion and our official website at pistolasdpasion.com

Who are your musical heroes and influences? Why?

As a singer, my influences are Mick Jagger, David Lee Roth, Steve Perry and Joe Elliot. As a guitarist-Randy Rhoads, Neal Schon, Robbin Crosby and Steve Clark.

Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in the music business?

Learn from those who came before you. And never, never, ever quit. Perseverance is key.

What piece of advice did you ignore that you wish you hadn’t?

Advice not to dismiss certain former members of the band before they became a problem.

Do you have a greatest gig story or worst gig horror story you’d like to share?

Worst gig was headlining a theater in my hometown on a 40 foot stage with a 10 foot guitar cable. Kept getting unplugged during the whole set. It sucked.

CPI_7338-Edit-Edit

Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music? Collect stamps? Collect hats from off the side of the road? Draw pictures of peckers or boobs? Make sock puppets? Sit in the dark and eat Cheetos?

Hobbies? I don’t have much time for hobbies but I do draw pictures of sock puppets with boobs while eating Cheetos. I’m kidding. I don’t eat Cheetos at all.

What do you think about the current music scene or lack of? Care to address that?

What music scene? In Chicago, you have DJ’s with laptops and cover bands making all the money while the original artists generally starve. Nothing to address for me though, we don’t really play in Chicago.

Do you think reality shows like American Idol, X factor and The Voice have helped or hurt the music industry as a whole?

I had invitations to audition for two of those three shows, but I declined because I didn’t feel it was for me-But if people feel it is right for them and their career goals, so be it. Doesn’t hurt the music industry, in my opinion because some people who were on those shows end up selling lots of records. And selling records is a good thing for the industry as whole.

What is your opinion of unauthorized music downloads?

They suck. If you truly like an artist, spend the 99 cents or whatever and help that artist continue to make the music your enjoy.

Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect to hear.

Tomasso knows quite a bit about how things work in Amsterdam and Robby walks with a strut.

Hypothetical situation. You’re on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up with only one of the survivors… Which one and why?

Ginger. She seems like she would have been a fun chick to hook up with. Of course, this is only if we’re talking about me being old enough to hook up with her back then and not now!

Do you know what a vinyl album is and have your ever purchased one? If so, what was it?

Yeah, I know about vinyl but I never purchased a vinyl record… my parents had an awesome collection, so I didn’t need to.

You’re marooned on an island with Justin Bieber. Do you choke him out the first night in his sleep or what?

Why would I choke Justin Bieber if I stuck on an island with him? I’m sure he’d be more helpful in aiding my return to civilization than a fiddler crab or a monitor lizard…

What is your opinion of Miley Cyrus?

I don’t know her, so I have no opinion.

Which would you rather hear in concert? Lip synching or real vocals?

Are you serious? Real vocals.

Who, or what, is the next big thing?

The “next big thing” is so subjective. What are we talking? Record sales? Awards? Critical acclaim? Musical ability?

One artist you can’t get enough of and can’t live without is…

There is no one artist that fits that criteria for me. Sorry.

Confession time. Share a secret about yourself.

I dislike people taking photos of me.

Favorite movie of all time and why.

It’s A Wonderful Life. It’s a classic-Great story and it makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

Our last question is called “Shout It Out Loud”. It’s were you get to talk about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and “SHOUT IT OUT LOUD”!

Check out the latest single from Pistolas D’ Pasion, Imposible-Available on MTV.COM, Amazon.com and other fine retailers.
