Who are your musical heroes and influences? Why?
We have planty of different influences and heroes, artists like, Queen, Tool, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Ennio Morricone, Queens of the Stone Age, Mountain, Pantera… it could probably take a couple of days to name all of our inspirations!
Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in the music business?
We still don’t think to be in the position to give real pieces of advice, although we believe that Artists are too focused on having success and don’t care much about the artistic side of music anymore.
What piece of advice did you ignore that you wish you hadn’t?
well, as you’ll listen in the track “Cheesy Song” from our upcoming album, in a certain period someone suggested our singer “stop singing Disco Music!!!”, today we all know he should have never started.
Do you have a greatest gig story or worst gig horror story you’d like to share?
Once we had a concert, we stopped to have a listen to the next band, we got involved in a violent Pogo, after a while we noticed some blood on the ground, we tried to understand where that blood was coming from, Fabio and Mad Mike looked at each other undertanding that both their faces turned into red masks! then in the hospital they started to promote the band with the nurses… funny story.
Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music? Collect stamps? Collect hats from off the side of the road? Draw pictures of peckers or boobs? Make sock puppets? Sit in the dark and eat Cheetos?
Fabio likes to play indi-videogames, Nico’s passion is Reading Books, Mad Mike has too many passions, he has to think about it! Marco’s hobby is collecting old Vinyls and Music.
What do you think about the current music scene or lack of? Care to address that?
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Do you think reality shows like American Idol, X factor and The Voice have helped or hurt the music industry as a whole?
This kind of talent shows changed the conception of music for the audience, they are perfect to make short-life music and artists. as we already said before people has a distorted vision of music. one day you sing at the karaoke, the day after you are a star. music is supposed to be the result of work and sacrifice.
What is your opinion of unauthorized music downloads?
of course we think it’s a damage for the artist. we are all fans and we think that if you love a band or an artist there’s only one way to take: supporting them.
Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect to hear.
Nico: He hates Beer. Marco: He attended a “Voice Over” accademy. Mad Mike: His Original Instrument is Saxophone. Fabio: He has a dangerous addiction for gummy bears.
Hypothetical situation. You’re on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up with only one of the survivors… Which one and why?
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Do you know what a vinyl album is and have your ever purchased one? If so, what was it?
Yes! Marco collects them. One of his last entry a 1973 Original copy of “Sheer Heart Attack” from Queen.
You’re marooned on an island with Justin Bieber. Do you choke him out the first night in his sleep or what? 13-probably we would punch his face as many times as his youtube views
What is your opinion of Miley Cyrus?
She’s a good actress.
Which would you rather hear in concert? Lip syncing or real vocals?
of course always real vocals
Who, or what, is the next big thing?
We are about to tour the UK! that’s quite a big Thing!
One artist you can’t get enough of and can’t live without is…
Marco ——– Queen
Fabio ——— Yann Tiersen
Niko ———- Opeth
Mad Mike — Rage Against The Machine
Confession time. Share a secret about yourself.
No, It’s a Secret!
Favorite movie of all time and why.
Marco —– Back to the Future – for the amount of different emotions in it.
Fabio —— Batman- the dark knight rises because of the soundtrack
Niko ——— K19 beause of the engaging story
Mad Mike — The Snatch because of the amazing cut and characters
Our last question is called “Shout It Out Loud”. It’s were you get to talk about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and “SHOUT IT OUT LOUD”!
libertè ègalitè fraternitè !!!

Kickacts interviews “One Way Mirror”
Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and were you can be found online.
Hi. I’m Guillaume. The singer of this human association.
We’re French, great friends, we eat frogs and anything, we play some great music we do by the heart and I guess or hope our music is available everywhere..
Who are your musical heroes and influences? Why?
If I have to speak for myself I will say:
Rage Against the machine
Midnight Oil
Guns n roses
Pantera
Why because they simply touched me as a human..
They changed me.. For the better or the worse. It’s not mine to choose.
Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in the music business?
Don’t do it unless you are very good. And not only good in front of your mirror in your messy bedroom.
Everybody can pretend. This business needs consistence.
What piece of advice did you ignore that you wish you hadn’t?
Nothing. I knew it all deep inside.
Do you have a greatest gig story or worst gig horror story you’d like to share?
Worse: When the venue guy, as you are finishing the soundcheck as the doors are openinng, comes to you and says: Time is up. Curfew is strict and we only have time for the headliner.
Best: Play in a stadium with Metallica in front of 65000 people and my hotel room is in the stadium itself. Just have to walk from the bed to the stage in 5mn..
Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music? Collect stamps? Collect hats from off the side of the road? Draw pictures of peckers or boobs? Make sock puppets? Sit in the dark and eat Cheetos?
I have a hobby which is also a job: Photography. I need to make money with everything I do. Music made me poor, hahahah!!! I have to think practical.
What do you think about the current music scene or lack of? Care to address that?
I don’t listen to music much. Music is a selfish way to express myself and I like it this way.. Dealing with my mind takes too much time..
Do you think reality shows like American Idol, X factor and The Voice have helped or hurt the music industry as a whole?
Hurts. It’s the worse shit ever. A shitty perfectly created world by fake perfect humans. They blind and misinform people and create a fake world that sucks big time.
They deserve to rot in hell. But I don’t believe in god. God is the first reality show.
What is your opinion of unauthorized music downloads?
I hate it. They kill us. So are they killing culture. And culture is everything. With food. Music and art are mind elevation.
Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect to hear.
David has a huge ribcage, Franck snores with really weird sounds, Perdi is beautiful but ugly, Clement is intelligent but stupid and I am the worst nightmare.. Stupider than the rest of us.
Hypothetical situation. You’re on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up with only one of the survivors… Which one and why?
I don’t know this place.
Do you know what a vinyl album is and have your ever purchased one? If so, what was it?
I’m 36. I know what it is. I don’t remember what it was. I was too young. My first cd though was the first SEAL album. I still very much love it.
You’re marooned on an island with Justin Bieber. Do you choke him out the first night in his sleep or what?
No. This young dude is just victim of his success and his surrounding. And I’m not jealous. And as long as he likes what he does I won’t allow myself to judge him. I would try to get to know him to get to know what he’s made of. I’m sure he’s a nice guy after all.
What is your opinion of Miley Cyrus?
I don’t know that person.
Which would you rather hear in concert? Lip syncing or real vocals?
What do you think?? I’m not stupid..
Who, or what, is the next big thing?
Google managing to make my friends and I live until 300 years old in good health all the way.
One artist you can’t get enough of and can’t live without is…
Myself.
Confession time. Share a secret about yourself.
I hate silence. Silence is death and I can’t accept death. I get the point but I don’t accept it.
That’s why I drink.
Favorite movie of all time and why.
Maybe Minority report.. I don’t know why and I’m not even a fan of Tom Cruise. When you love it’s not always necessary to ask yourself why you love. That’s the magic of it.
Our last question is called “Shout It Out Loud”. It’s were you get to talk about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and “SHOUT IT OUT LOUD”!
Today 12 people died in France. They died because they had the freedom of speech and some people didn’t like it.
Freedom is our right.
Our soul needs it.
Unfortunately the majority of the world is deprived of it.
We, who have it, must cherish it until the end.
We are lucky to be alive.

Screaming Metal farts!
Well, I have always said this type of metal sounds like crap anyway and here you go, breathing proof of it. Got to give the guy props for airing out his vocal abilities like this. It is pretty funny though until you get to the lactose intolerant part! Then it gets well, crappy gross…LOL enjoy.
Here’s the link for the whole shitty story! METAL SUCKS

Hats off to Lemmy!
If you love rock and roll and don’t know who Lemmy is…You really should take down your boy band posters and get a good dose of healthy “Motor Head” to get your head out of your butt.
As real rock fans know, Lemmy, The Grandfather of Rock has had a bout of serious health issues here lately but he had the metal balls and guts to go out and give it a go anyway! Here is a YouTube video of his band doing 30 minutes of a 75 minute set. 85,000 screaming people and over 100 degrees on stage… Granted he only did 6 songs but most of you “One Direction” boy band suckers will never be able to pull off something like this…Here’s to you getting better LEMMY!

James interviews Alexander “Motor” of GRENOVER from Russia!
(Just for the record these guys are one bad ass freakin band! They are our brothers in ROCK!)
special thanks to James for the interview!
Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and your band and were you can be found at on the web.
Alexander ‘Motor’ (guitars): Hi, folks! Really nice to meet you all and to talk for a while. I’m Alexander ‘Motor’, guitarist and co-songwriter of GRENOUER band. We play metal, rock or whatever you might call our mix. Google to find us or just go to the web-site www.grenouer.com and check links to our pages within the main social networks, we are very easy to get discovered. I am reckoned as a co-founder of GRENOUER, yet this is only partially true. In fact I joined the band in 1999 when GRENOUER were local death metal stars. In 2010 the frontman Andrey ‘Ind’ and me had to reassemble the band and the fact makes me definitely a co-founder of today’s GRENOUER. 14 years in a band is a not a joke anyway. I am aged 32, married.

Who are your musical heroes, influences & why?
Motor: I have a lot of musical heroes, music affairs are often very heroic. Maybe due to absolute dedication of many musicians. Like going on a questionable tour in an uncomfortable van. Influences? Naturally lots of them from David Bowie to GODFLESH! I started from classical BLACK SABBATH because my dad was into them, and they gave me good understanding of the power of minor key.
Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in playing music? Any pitfalls they should avoid?
Motor: You need to have goals, both short-term and long-term. And you’d better be honest with yourself. It’s no use to waste time doing what you dislike and teaming up with people you have no evident sympathy for. The easiest way is to deal with true enthusiasts and skilled professionals. And you have to be severe with nobody else but yourself, don’t forget about self-education and personal development, get ready to spend money and to miss a lot of parties.
Do you have a greatest gig story you’d like to share?
Motor: 2005, GRENOUER touring in Siberia, one of our gigs banned. It happened in Kemerovo city, promoters did their best to save the event but they couldn’t fight false denunciation in advocacy of violence. That felt like a real shock as if USSR days were back when playing rock music meant being illegal. Ticket were sold out and the house was expected to be totally full, yet the police guard at the venue “strangle evil at its birth”. A few hours later we were giving a secret show at a small studio for a very narrow circle of people, true underground resistance with very unusual feeling, still this incident is hard to compare with the folly case of PUSSY RIOT.
On the same token as the above question. How about a “worse gig” ever story.
Motor: A worse gig is when the feelings are missing. That might be for different reasons – unfair promoters, incorrect selection of bands, horrible sound… We always aim to pleasure fans in spite of any mess though. Oh, it has just occurred to me – the gig in Kirov city, we tested local beer and then had to carry toilet paper everywhere, even on stage!
Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music? Collect stamps? Collect hats from off the side of the road? Draw pictures of boobs?
Motor: My new hobby is checking out on-line training music courses, they save time and money. The latest one was from Berkley College of Music. Yeah, sometimes I draw apocalyptic pictures with a pencil, I wish I could tell that I draw them on boobs.
What do you think about the present music scene or lack of? Care to address that?
Motor: I like that the present music scene is so huge, for everyone’s taste. In my opinion the era of decent albums is returning. And I am happy that I am on stage while a lot of friendly bands just gave up for nothing.
Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect to hear… Like their hobbies or something like that…
Motor: At one gig afterparty I fell asleep earlier than others and charitable guys covered me with a bicycle instead of a blanket. So, I must be a decent cyclist now. Our bass player Daemon was recently employed in the position of the exterminator fighting with insects and rodents. That caused a lot of jokes about moles, well, moles are funnier than rats. Andrey ‘Ind’, lead singer, used to work as a teacher at school, he had to wake up very early in the morning. One of the mornings he was arrested by mistake for a kindergarten robbery. Spent several hours at the police station, was questioned and then dismissed unbeaten. One of the criminating evidences was a stolen vibrator. Drummer Danny had a cute girlfriend who was fond of clay modeling. One fine day Danny made a sculpture with a huge dick and that sculpture caused a furor at the party. The guests eagerly embraced it, took pictures, unfortunately Instagram didn’t exits then.
Hypothetical situation. You’re stranded on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up with only one of the girls… Is it Ginger, Mary Ann or Mrs. Howell and why?
Motor: I never watched “Gilligan’s Island”, but I can answer in relation to “Moonlighting”. Choosing between Bruce Willis, Cybill Shepherd and Allyce Beasley I will never think of Bruce Willis. Just because he is half-German!
Our last question is called “Shout It Out Loud”. It’s were you get to talk about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and “SHOUT IT OUT LOUD”!
Motor: I will highly enjoy YOU shouting one of GRENOUER’s song! “Blood on the Face” suits that fairly well!
Steel Panther in the studio!
lol! Only musicians will actually understand this one but its pretty darn funny! Studio magic at its best!
PowerWolf “Amen & Attack”!
This has got the right combo of old sckool metal and new sckool! Its’ not drowning in super fast guitar riffs that are meaningless to the song. The vocals rock too! No cookie monster here. And check out the drummer switching up his playing!

“Ghost” new album streaming here
I really dig the loose sounding snare on the drum kit for one. It’s new metal music but not played at a thousand miles an hour. No cookie monster vocals either. Yea, I think the message is only to sell albums but who cares. Check it out. Hell, they weren’t afraid to cover an ABBA song either in the past.
