The band Saxon had a semi metal hit way back in the day that had an opening line that went like this…”Where were you in 79′ when the dam began to burst?” Collectively speaking, the same thing happened in 1981 when a new Music Channel signed on for the first time. Who would have known back then that it would permanently change the way we “look” at music. I remember MTV coming to the Evansville/Henderson area and was being “pitched”. I used to have one of “Flair” stick pin buttons that was given away while they were in town.
When I lived at home, my brother and I had MTV on 24 hours a day…We watched the KISS “Unmasking” live. We also watched Iron Maiden’s Debut of “Two Minutes to Midnight” that first aired at two minutes to midnight”. Go figure! Michael Jackson”s mini horror music video “Thriller” too. Which seemed to air every hour on the hour. It was an exciting time not knowing which video was next to air! It could be a metal band like “W.A.S.P. or an 80’s pop band like “Wham!”. You young kids have no idea what you missed. The hairstyles, the music, the clothes,the girls, the culture. It was an awakening! Just like when the 60’s revolution started! Did you “Catch the wave!”

You think she is. Why? What makes someone too old to be what they want to be or do what they want to do? Who wrote the rule book? I am not a fan of her music but at her age (look it up at you need to know her age) She is still in shape and making noise. So hats off to her. “Techno” on Madonna!

Deen Castronovo‘s recent arrest for domestic violence is much worse than we thought … he’s now been charged with rape … TMZ has learned.
The Journey drummer had been arrested earlier this month for domestic violence related charges involving his wife, but now the D.A. has added new charges — rape, sexual abuse, coercion and unlawful use of a weapon.
Castronovo is being held without bail in Marion County, Oregon.
Journey booted Castronovo from its tour following his initial arrest.
Castronovo is due in court Tuesday.
Due to his recent second arrest for domestic abuse charges.

The band issued a statement saying, “Journey has made the decision to have Omar Hakim play drums for the band’s upcoming U.S. concerts (Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, June 20, and the Stadium of Fire in Provo, Utah on Saturday, July 4), as well as the band’s Canadian tour (July 6 – August 3), due to Deen Castronovo’s pending issues.”
Castronovo, who will enter his plea on June 30, has not commented on the band’s decision to show him the door.

David Lee Roth. Always entertaining! Loved his videos. More eye candy then Playboy or Hustler at the time and damn good music too!Here’s to 80’s…If I only had Stewie’s time machine. Clearly Dave’s technique was influenced by Vaudeville, burlesque and the great dancers from the 50’s. I mean who else but Dave could take a warm sunny surf song from the Beach Boys and turn it into every 15 year old males (and some females) wet dream? Dave did ask the all important question though about a couple of the hot chicks in his videos. He wondered what do 2 former hotties that are now fifty plus year old lesbians do for fun these days. Not sure how to take it. On one side, its funny and other the other side, it reminds me of a David Lee Roth video. His videos in this manner work…but does the Styx one work? Dennis De Young seems to be playing the role of Lou Costello?
