TANTRIC TO RELEASE “BLUE ROOM ARCHIVES” ON SEPTEMBER 30TH
Alternative rockers Tantric will release a compilation of new, unreleased,
and acoustic material under the title of “Blue Room Archives” on September
30 through Pavement Entertainment.
This new release will follow up 2013’s highly successful 5th studio album
“37 Channels”, and includes acoustic versions of the classic Tantric hits
“Breakdown” and “Mourning”, as well as, the brand new single “Cynical”. A
streaming version of the new single can be heard here: http://goo.gl/uTrTI5
The title for the album comes from Tantric’s home studio “The Blue Room”
where much production work and song writing have taken place over the
band’s extensive career.
Lead vocalist and frontman* Hugo Ferreira *comments: ” This isn’t so much
a premeditated album, but a collection of music I have done that I always
loved extremely but never found a place for. It’s songs in their purest
form, no flashy production or elaborate theme. Imagine it as a mix tape of
songs I wrote or co-wrote that stand alone uniquely. A inside view of the
other side of a tantric state of mind.”
*Please post as a news item. Hugo is also available for interviews!*
“Blue Room Archives” track listing:
1. Cynical
2. Breakdown (Acoustic)
3. Abuse Me
4. Don’t Let It Win
5. Fall To The Ground (Remix)
6. Mind Control (Remix)
7. Mourning (Acoustic)
8. Nothing At All
9. Mourning After
10. Indiscretion
11. Flip A Coin

Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and were you can
be found online.
I’m Born and Raised in Dumas Texas, Moved to Denison Texas at 16. Founded
and started the band Texas Hippie Coalition in 2003-2012. Now in the band
EMPERORS AND ELEPHANTS out of Chicago. Signed to Pavement records. Touring

living in Pittsburgh PA.
Who are your musical heroes and influences? Why?
Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, DIMEBAG, and Zakk Wylde. I play guitar
because of these guys and learned how to play from them. I’ve had the GREAT
Honor of Opening shows for PANTERA and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. I’m a Texas guy
so I met DIME and PANTERA at 17 and soon after that was opening many shows
for PANTERA in the North Texas area.
Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in the music
business?
Learn all you can by watching and listening to other people. Don’t let
ANYONE tell you You can’t do it, because YOU CAN!!! Don’t fry your brain on
Drugs and Alcohol cause you’re gonna need it. DON’T EVER GIVE UP OR QUIT!!!
What piece of advice did you ignore that you wish you hadn’t?
I could have taken band in school as a kid but I chose to take sports.
You couldn’t do both, but I loved sports
Do you have a greatest gig story or worst gig horror story you’d like to
share?
Playing on the Jerry Springer show and playing the Brazilian National
Anthem in San Paolo Brazil in front of 1000,000 people
Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music? Collect stamps?
Collect hats from off the side of the road? Draw pictures of peckers or
boobs? Make sock puppets? Sit in the dark and eat Cheetos?
I enjoy family time with my kids and girlfriend, fishing, boating,
camping, I’m so outdoors I hate being stuck in the house during winter. I
love spring and summer, Lakes and Water.
What do you think about the current music scene or lack of? Care to
address that?
I miss music like the 80s. Every band was Killer and exciting to see
Live. I’m glad I learned to play from the guitar players of the 80s. they
were the BEST.
Do you think reality shows like American Idol, X factor and The Voice
have helped or hurt the music industry as a whole?
It gave people a chance to be heard that the world might have never had a
chance to hear.
What is your opinion of unauthorized music downloads?
It’s Killing our record sells and downloads, and making it real hard for
bands to survive.
Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect
to hear.
Ron Stoppable can build anything with his hands. Jeff Windish is super
smart, and a recording engineer that did a big part of our DEVIL IN THE
LAKE CD. Jason Meudt does all our merch and dog tags. works for Dean
Guitars and does all their filming, is a photographer and did all the art
work and Videos for our record. Jesse is always coming up with new topic
and songs and lyrics and plays guitar too. I’m surrounded by BADASSES!
Hypothetical situation. You’re on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up
with only one of the survivors… Which one and why?
Mary Ann she would be a good partner and Help Mate. Someone to work
together with.
Do you know what a vinyl album is and have your ever purchased one? If so,
what was it?
All the KISS records on vinyl.
You’re marooned on an island with Justin Bieber. Do you choke him out the
first night in his sleep or what?
Try work together and we will see how it goes.
What is your opinion of Miley Cyrus?
She has a beautiful gift. I hope she gets through the phase she is
going through.
Which would you rather hear in concert? Lip synching or real vocals?
REAL VOCALS
Who, or what, is the next big thing?
I’m Hoping and Praying that We are!
One artist you can’t get enough of and can’t live without is…
Zakk Wylde, BLS, He is a Like a professional athlete on a football team. A machine.
The KING of what a GUITAR HERO should be.
Confession time. Share a secret about yourself.
Broke my neck in a car wreck in 1991. paralyzed from the neck down. Rode
in a wheel chair for almost 2 years, learned how to walk and take care of
myself and retrained myself to play guitar again. I have no feeling in my
HANDS.
Favorite movie of all time and why.
ROCK STAR movie, cause that’s all I ever wanted to be.
Our last question is called “Shout It Out Loud”. It’s where you get to
talk about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and “SHOUT IT OUT
LOUD”!
Follow your DREAMS! Follow your HEART. Listen to the VOICES in your
head. And PRAY everyday.

KickActs interviews Tim Jones of “Feel Never Real”
(please comment/Like on Facebook and share)
Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and were you can be found online.
Well we’re a three piece band from the state of Texas and we can be found on many sites online but our primary 3 are ReverbNation Twitter and Facebook those sites are :
www. ReverbNation com / feel never real
www. Twitter com / feel never real
www. Facebook.com / feel never real
Who are your musical heroes and influences? Why?
We have many different influences, most in the genre of Rock, such as nirvana Guns and Roses, but we’ve even been influenced by older country artists as well such as , Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Jr and Ronnie Milsap Why, because its what we like.
Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in the music business?
DONT DO IT!!!! :), Naw , its tough tho. You’ve always had to put in the time but it seems to be tougher these days in alot of aspects that weren’t as tough before. Such as the amount of money to be made is somewhat less than before and thats fine just dont expect to be a multi millionaire and you’d be alright.
Touring is definitely tough as well not alot of people can eat the same sandwich for a month! ! 🙂
What piece of advice did you ignore that you wish you hadn’t?
we weren’t given alot of advice, unfortunately we really didnt know anyone in the industry when we moved to Dallas area so we got taken for lots of rides, but still thats how u learn. Ive shared some advice with others that im sure they wished they’d listened to
Do you have a greatest gig story or worst gig horror story you’d like to share?
definitely have had some awesome ones and some bad ones , the awesome ones are generally filled with people and they’re all singing the songs but nothing really specific without divulging some graphic information 🙂
Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music? Collect stamps? Collect hats from off the side of the road? Draw pictures of peckers or boobs? Make sock puppets? Sit in the dark and eat Cheetos?
Personally I love drag racing and more specifically 1/8th mile track, I have a truck I like to race and also have some friends with actual fast cars that are fun to be apart of as well
What do you think about the current music scene or lack of? Care to address that?
Its definitely weird, not near as many bands pushing to get thru and venues are drying up, so its a definite chang, hopefully its just a phase , but who knows
Do you think reality shows like American Idol, X factor and The Voice have helped or hurt the music industry as a whole?
well if u ever get to look at a “contract” from those folks run unless u want to be a famous , poor, puppet
What is your opinion of unauthorized music downloads?
I dont really think there’s much to be done about it, that genie is out of the bottle. Bout all I think we can do is embrace it and hope those folks come to shows.
Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect to hear.
I am a idiot (Tim)
Shea dances real well
And Mat is Shelley’s new boyfriend (sick in the head)
Hypothetical situation. You’re on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up with only one of the survivors… Which one and why?
Maryann im into the girl next door type
Do you know what a vinyl album is and have your ever purchased one? If so, what was it
When I was young I found a record player of my parents, so one day I was at the pawn shop and saw “appetite for destruction” on vinyl and remembered my older brother said it was awesome, so 5 $ bought my first record! ! So yeah I know 🙂
You’re marooned on an island with Justin Bieber. Do you choke him out the first night in his sleep or what?
Naw im afraid im a talkin kind of person so I figure someone’s better than nothing to talk to
What is your opinion of Miley Cyrus?
She’s obviously talented like her or not, its a shame to me that she’s surrounded by label and management folks that encourage her demise for a spectacle to sell records
Which would you rather hear in concert? Lip synching or real vocals?
Backing tracks to me are a joke , no band should do this
Who, or what, is the next big thing?
Honestly who knows, hopefully we are 🙂
One artist you can’t get enough of and can’t live without is…
Beatles truthfully
Confession time. Share a secret about yourself.
I love people, but I really enjoy kind of keeping to myself I’m not shy I just like to observe people
Favorite movie of all time and why.
The aviator I really like the cinematography it just has a real feel for the depiction of the time I think it’s pretty awesome Howard Hughes tells the US government to kiss his ass more or less
Our last question is called “Shout It Out Loud”. It’s were you get to talk about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and “SHOUT IT OUT LOUD”!
We are beginning to tour this summer and are looking forward to seeing is many fans as we can so please if you see we’re making it to your town come out and see us you won’t regret it
